Edward W. Richards

Edward W. Richards, 84, of Bethlehem; died Wednesday, July 18, 2012. He was born in Bethlehem; the son of the late William T. and Alma C. (Bloomstrom) Richards. He was the devoted husband of Shirley M. (Shepard) Richards. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this past November 25th.

Edward worked as a Bricklayer for The Bethlehem Steel Corporation for almost 40 years. He proudly served his country as Military Police in the U.S. Army. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who always enjoyed the company of his canine companions.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirley, son,

Craig W. Richards and wife Patty, daughter, Diane M. Deemer,

brothers, Robert and Donald Richards, grandchildren, Jason Roberts and wife Jen, Brooke Roberts LaRocca and Adam Deemer and two great- grandchildren, Michael and Mia LaRocca and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene Davis, Ethel Fisher and Edna Richards and his brother, William Richards.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held, Monday, July 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem. Visitation will be from 10 -11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park, in Bethlehem.
