Eileen O'Hare, 91 years young, left this word to be with God on March 29, 2011.Born on July 23, 1919, Eileen O'Hare was raised in Brooklyn, NY, spending the first 45 years of her life living in Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn, NY

Eileen was a legal secretary for Winthrop, Stimson, Putnam & Roberts, now part of the Phillsbury, Winthrop, Shaw Pittman LLP on Wall Street for 35 years retiring in 1984. As a young woman, Eileen traveled the country extensively, visiting both Hawaii and Alaska before each became a state. She was an avid skier and horseback rider, loved to bowl, and belonged to a Brooklyn bowling league for many years. In the early 1970's Eileen moved to Highland Park, NJ, to be close to her sister, June, and her family. From the late 1940's through the 1960's Eileen O'Hare shared a cottage known as the "Glass Knob" on Foul RIft Road with Kitty Snyder, Joesphine Cooney and "Mother," Jean Blake, the four affectionately known as "The Girls" to friends and neighbors on the Rift. After retiring from legal secretarial work on Wall Street, she moved to Warren County NJ and settled in Brakeley Gardens in Lopatcong, NJ. While living in Brakeley Gardens, Eileen was secretary for the Brakeley Gardens Tenants Association.

Eileen volunteered for NORWESCAP as a recording secretary. She also volunteered to staff both the Blood Mobile and Book Mobile. She enjoyed reading stories to children in the Phillipsburg Public Library. Eileen was a parishioner of St Mary's Church in Alpha, NJ. An avid reader, Eileen loved to read mystery novels, and would trade books with family and neighbors. Eileen is survived by her three nieces Ellen, Eileen and Elaine Reichart.

A viewing will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at St. Mary Catholic Church 850, 5th Ave., Alpha, NJ 08865 from 9-10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem, PA. Arrangements Connell Funeral Home in Bethlehem, PA.
