Eleanor G. Bierman

Eleanor G. Bierman, 97, of Bethlehem Twp. died Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Country Meadows Nursing Home. She was born April 10, 1910 in Jersey City, NJ, the daughter of the late John and Ellen O'Grady Schroeder. She lived for many years in Weehawken and North Bergen, NJ and for 27 years in Hackensack, NJ before retiring to Leisure Village West in Manchester Township, NJ where she lived for 19 years. She was the loving wife of the late Edward Bierman to whom she was married 43 wonderful years. Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved being a girl scout when she was younger. She was a former member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Maywood, NJ and St. John?s Roman Catholic Church in Lakehurst, NJ and where she was a member of the Rosary Society. After high school, Eleanor worked as a secretary stenographer and after the depression, she worked for General Electric in Bloomfield, NJ.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Thomas E. Bierman husband of Claire of Kendall Park, N.J.; daughter, Ellen E., wife of Donald M. Parkin of Easton, PA; a sister, Dorothea S. Bassett of Catonsville, MD; and four grandchildren, Christine M., wife of Troy Dermota of Bellefonte, PA, Elizabeth E. Parkin of Easton, PA, Thomas J. Bierman of Dallas, TX, Michael E. Bierman of Kendall Park, NJ, and one great granddaughter Abigail Rose. She was preceded in death by two brothers Robert J., and Leslie J. Schroeder.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held, Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 9:45 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem, PA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jane Frances DeChantal Catholic Church 4049 Hartley Ave. Easton, PA. Visitations will be Monday evening from 6-9 p.m. in the funeral home and Tuesday morning from 9-9:45a.m.

Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Hackensack, NJ on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 11:30 a.m.
