Eleanor S. Huber

Eleanor Stella Schmidt Huber, 86, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Holy Family Manor. She was born January 13, 1928 in Northampton; daughter of the late Stephen and Julia (Kornheisel) Schmidt. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, William J. Huber.

Earlier in life, Eleanor worked as a secretary for PPL and Woodring Roberts before dedicating her life to her family. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Janice of Bethlehem; sons, Larry W. of Emmaus and Billy of Bethlehem; her grandson, Craig; brother, Paul Schmidt, sisters, Mary Schaffer; Rose Brown; Hilda Goodin; Julia Mertz; Anna Moss; Margaret Iser and Clara Barton. Eleanor was preceded in death by her siblings, Stephen; Otto; Walter; Leopold and John.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and former parishioner of Our Lady of Hungary in Northampton where she was a member of the sodality. Eleanor volunteered her time with Easter Seals and the American Cancer society and was supportive of her childrens activities.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 10-11 AM with Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18020. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family c/o Connell Funeral Home.
