Elizabeth A. Holzman

Elizabeth “Betty” A. Holzman, 88, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice in Allentown. She was born in Bethlehem on December 28, 1925, and was a daughter of the late Victor and Anna (Straka) Dolak. She was the wife of the late Charles B. Holzman who died in 1969. They were married 22 years.

Elizabeth was employed for many years as an excellent seamstress for various textile mills in Allentown and Bethlehem. She was a founding and devout member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, and a member of the Churchs 55+ Club. She was an avid gardener of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. She was an excellent baker and was renowned for the best tasting Slovak kiffles. She had a deep interest in health-related topics. She was devoted to her family was ever willing to help her family and friends.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Briant and daughter, Cynthia, wife of Peter Biedenkopf, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her twin brother, John Dolak, brother, Stephen Dolak and sisters, Helen Huerta, Anna Wiedl and Barbara Karetz.

Services: Saturday, April 26 - 8:15 to 9:15 AM - Viewing at Connell Funeral Home; 10:00 AM - Mass at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, Catasauqua Rd; followed by Burial at Holy Savior Cemetery, Linden Street.
