Elizabeth Ann Verrastro, (Betty), 92, of Bethlehem, originally from Dunmore, PA, passed away on January 9th, 2022 surrounded by her family. Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Biagio and Elizabeth DiVizio. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Leonard T. Verrastro.
Upon graduating from Dunmore HS in 1947, Betty began her career as a sewing machine operator. She served for many years at various locations in Scranton and the Lehigh Valley and was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union for more than 35 years. She produced over 500 COVID masks in 2020 and donated them all to local healthcare workers, family and friends. She was also an active parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Bethlehem where she often provided baked goods for both the church and school. Her greatest passion was spending time with her 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren whom she raised and dedicated her life to for over 60 years. She also supported her Husband's active membership in the Knights of Columbus Trinity Council #313. Betty was a phenomenal cook and baker. She was well known for preparing meals from scratch and growing her own fruits and vegetables. Her claim to fame is developing a recipe for the best home-made cannolis.

Verrastro and wife, Roxanne of Emmaus, PA; Marian Copley and husband, Richard of Hudson, Ohio; and Lynn Layton and husband, Keith of Conifer, Colorado; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; and brother, Frank DiVizio of Dickson City, PA.
