Elizabeth Ann Jimenez

Elizabeth Ann Jimenez, 83 yrs old passed away January 4th, 2020 after a short illness. She resided in Hamburg, NJ.

Mrs. Jimenez was born January 15, 1936 in Bronx, NY to Charles Huzway and Anna Kovacs Huzway predeceased. She graduated Walton High School in NYC and attended Hunter College, NYC where she obtained her Masters in Education. Elizabeth started teaching High School and College in her younger years. She shortly married Manuel Jimenez, April 23, 1960 in the Bronx NY predeceased they were married for 56 years. Shortly after that they moved to Oakland, NJ before settling down in Ringwood, NJ for 36 years. They raised three children. Elizabeth (Liz) taught at St. Catherines of Bologna in Ringwood for 35 yrs. before relocating to Palm Coast, FL to continue teaching for another 5 yrs. before retiring. She received Teacher of the Year Award many times in her span of teaching. Teaching was her passion, when asked what she wanted to do in her afterlife she said she wanted to teach. Besides teaching she loved to read, play Bingo, watch TV as well as singing. In her earlier years she loved to play the accordion.

Mrs. Jimenez is survived by her children: Anne Jimenez of Daytona Beach, FL, James & Dorothy Jimenez of Ogdensburg, NJ and Marie Roberts of Ringwood, NJ as well as five grandchildren: Jaclyn and Matthew Jimenez, Luc and Nicolette Roberts and Amachia Ivey.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 from 11 a.m.-12p.m. at Ss. Simon and Jude Church, 730 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 p.m. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired, P.O. Box 47017 Newark, NJ 07101-47017.
