Elizabeth H. "Honey" (Lipka) Geldon, 95, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Saint Luke's Hospice. Born in Bethlehem on April 8, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Daday) Lipka. She was the loving wife of the late John T. Geldon, who passed away in 2006, for 68 wonderful years. She retired in 1979 after working for Pembroke Dress Company for 25 years. Honey was a longtime and active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bethlehem and, upon its closing, joined Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Bethlehem Township. She was a member of the National Sokols Wreath 66 and the ILGWU. She was a fantastic cook, specializing in chicken soup and halupkies, and always had a sewing needle and thread ready for a quick clothing repair. She was proud of her Slovak & Polish heritage, and entertained her family with memories of growing up on Bethlehem's South Side. She dedicated her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be sadly missed by all.
Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by daughters, Elaine and her husband, Neal Lamana, of Bethlehem, Jean and her husband, Jack Sobota, of Bethlehem Township; granddaughter, Lisa Anne Lamana Lauer and her husband, Jim, of Fountain Hill; grandsons, John Lamana and his wife, June, of Bethlehem Township, Michael Sobota and his wife, Allison, of Sinking Spring, Jonathan Sobota of Chicago; great-granddaughter Taylor Anne Lamana; great-grandsons Ryan and Alex Sobota; another great-grandchild due in July; her grand-dog Pita; and sister-in-law Rita Lipka of Bethlehem. She was preceded in death by her sisters Helen Ender, Anna Check, and Margaret Valek; and brothers, Joseph, Andrew, and Francis.
Services: Visitation will be held 9:00-10:30am Wed, March 27 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30am. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
