Elizabeth J. Cooney

Elizabeth Jane Cooney, 80, of Bethlehem died on Friday, April 14, 2011 at the Hospice House of St. Lukes.

She was born October 27, 1930 in Wilkes Barre, PA the daughter of the late Walter and Martha Leonard Brady.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband James Cooney in 1988.

She worked at Lehigh University for M.W. Wood Catering Co. for 23 years.

Elizabeth was a parishioner of Ss Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

Survivors: Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by her children, James R., and his wife, Julie, of Hellertown; Edward J., of Fountain Hill; Bridget Vasquez, and her husband, Michael, of Bethlehem; and Michael, and his companion, Alice Bennett, of Allentown; and daughters-in-law, Jessie Cooney, and Wilma Alvarez.

She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Services:

She was preceded in death by her son Patrick.

Services have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home and are private at the convenience of the family.
