Elizabeth J. Meyer

May 15, 1919 — July 22, 2021

Elizabeth J. Meyer, 102, of Whitehall, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Fellowship Community Manor.

Born May 15, 1919, in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ella B. (Biniakewitz) Schneider.

Following high school, Elizabeth went on to enter the workforce, starting as a telephone switchboard operator. She later served as an administrative assistant for Educational Testing Service.

Outside of work, she found joy in baking, cooking, garnering knowledge around World War II events, and reflecting on the life she lovingly lived with her late husband, Walter. Elizabeth loved being with family, and also had a strong passion for dancing and attending dance recitals. She was quite the health and nutrition enthusiast, too.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Walter C. Meyer; and two sisters: Catherine Zimmerer and Irene Houghton.

Elizabeth (“GiGi” and “Aunt Elsie”) will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Linda Dite (Robert); two granddaughters: Kristin Monty (Douglas) and Jennifer Weaver (Darren); and six great-grandchildren: Leah, Nicholas, and Lauren Monty, as well as Cameron, Kellen, and Merryn Weaver. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Princeton Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 403 Gordon Road, Robbinsville, NJ 08691, on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, from 12:00pm until the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm in the mausoleum chapel. A luncheon will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Dance Department, 321 East Third Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015, sent to the attention of Jennifer Weaver. Donations may also be made to Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, 2220 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ 08638.

Arrangements are under the care of Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
