Elizabeth (Betty) Jean Sheridan

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend

Elizabeth Jean Sheridan, Betty to all who knew her and formerly of Saucon Lane in Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2012 at the Meadowood Retirement Community in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.

A gathering will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 7-9 PM. Funeral services and a Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., November 8, 2012 at Cathedral Church of the Nativity, 321 Wyandotte Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015 .

Betty was born in Timmins, Ontario Canada to Duncan and Margaret Gray. She lived and worked in Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan as an executive secretary; after marriage, she resided in Farmington, Michigan; Williamsville, New York; and for 33 years in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Betty was an avid golfer, accomplished cribbage and duplicate bridge player, daily walker, and frequent traveler. With her much loved husband Jack, she enthusiastically sailed to places around the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Pacific; to Alaska, through the Panama Canal, and made several trips across the USA and to Europe, Russia and China.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband John (Jack) J. Sheridan, Jr., retired Bethlehem Steel Corporation executive, her parents, sister Mary Hodgins, and brothers Robert and John Gray.

She is survived by her daughters Wendy of Hamilton, Virginia and Linda of Lansdale Pennsylvania; son-in-laws Robert Castelli and Walter C. Unangst, granddaughters Molly and Kristen Unangst, and grandsons Walter John Unangst and Maximilian Castelli.

Betty is also survived by her cherished, extended Canadian family including her sister Margaret (Richard) Pawelek and brothers Donald (Barbara), Douglas (Patricia), and David (Lois) Gray, many nieces and nephews, spread across the Provinces.
