Ellen Stellato

Ellen Stellato, 99, of Bethlehem died Friday May 13th, 2011 at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. She was born on September 11, 1911 in Kane, Pa. and then moved at the age of 1 to Cervinara, Italy, Province of Avellino. She returned to the United States at the age of 16, moving from Williamsport to Bethlehem in 1934 where she was married on Christmas Day to the late Joseph Stellato who died in 1988. She was the daughter of the late Salvadore and Priscilla DaAgistino Casale.

Ellen was co-owner and operator of the Cackle Shop on Main St. in Bethlehem from 1959-1967. She also worked at Muriel Dress Co. from 1949 to 1958. She was a deeply religious woman who devoted her life to the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The family requests your prayers for her soul.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Louis N. Stellato and wife Sandra of Bethlehem, and a daughter Dolly Ondrovic and husband Marty of Emmaus, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son Joseph Stellato, and several brothers and sisters including a twin sister.

Services will be held 9:15AM Monday May 16, 2011 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, Pa.18018. Calling hours will be from 6-8PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
