Elsie H. Weaver, 95, of Bethlehem, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Moravian Village, in Bethlehem.
Born on April 29, 1928, in Catasauqua, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cecilia (Fiedler) Hutter.
Elsie was a faithful member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church. She previously worked at Western Electric, Weight Watchers and Piercing Pagoda. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. Elsie had a heart of gold—and saw the good in everyone. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her kindness carried over to her time at Moravian Village, the residents and staff loved Elsie—her personality could light up a room. Elsie’s family would like to thank the staff at Moravian Village for their kindness, care, and their ability to make Elsie feel like family. She will be missed by all of those who were near and dear to her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Michael and his wife, Mary; daughter, Karen Schlagel; four grandchildren, Michael (Gabby) and Brian Schlagel, Tracey Weaver and Kelley (Mark) Burgin; and surviving nieces and nephews, Joe (Cheryl) Hildebrant, Bill (Maureen) Hildebrant, Susan Hildebrant, Steve (Carolyn) Spesak, Carl (Barbara) Spesak, Tom (Shelley) Huetter, Vince (Sheila Rogers) Huetter, David (Ruthann) Seifert, Greg (Betsy) Seifert, Holly Sine, and Jane (JD) Nice.
In addition to her parents, Elsie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter H. Weaver; and her brothers and sisters, Emma, Joseph, Hilda, Raymond, Frederick, Angela, Frieda, Carl, Rose, and Cecelia.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 8-9:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Inurnment will follow at Gethsemane of St. Mary’s, Catasauqua.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Good Samaritan Fund (the charitable fund of Moravian Village), 526 Wood St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.
