Elsie S. Pribula

Elsie (Spirk) Pribula, 90, of Fountain Hill, died on Wednesday, July 09, 2014, at St. Lukes Hospice House in Lower Saucon Twp. She was born in Bethlehem, the daughter of the late Herman and Caroline (Neuherz) Spirk. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Pribula. They were married 55 years.

Elsie was a 1942 graduate of Liberty High School in Bethlehem. She worked as a secretary for Bethlehem Steel for 37 years. She was also secretary of the reunion committee of Liberty High School, Our Ladys Guild of St. Ursulas Catholic Church; secretary of the Recreation, Halloween, Pool and Tree Lighting Committees all of Fountain Hill; and past president of the former VFW in Fountain Hill; and a former vice-president of the Bethlehem Ladies Bowling League. She volunteered for many organizations including Musikfest, of which she was a 30 year volunteer. She was a faithful parishioner and integral part of St. Ursulas Catholic Church.

Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Albert and Bernard Spirk both of Bethlehem; and her many nieces and nephews extending four generations. She was predeceased by her brothers, Herman and Elmer Spirk and sister, Caroline Nelson.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Ursulas Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway, Bethlehem, PA 18015. Visitation will be Friday, from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem. Burial will be at Holy Ghost Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the church.
