Elza Symons

Elza Symons, 84, formerly of 1922 Woodmont Dr. Bethlehem, died Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. She was born in Bethlehem the daughter of the late John and Maria Brotshall Sarkozi. She was the wife of the late Carl Roger Symons Sr.

Elza graduated from Belleview School of Nursing in New York City in 1946. She was a registered nurse at St. Luke's for four years. She was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Elza was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She loved to swim and was also a nature and animal lover.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Carl Symons Jr. of California; Roberta Barlok of Bethlehem; Rachel Symons of Bethlehem; and Rhoda Symons of Crystal Lake, IL; grandson, Glenn Barlok and her granddaughter , Gina Blanchard.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Mahoney, Elizabeth Cleary , Irene Kajmo, Anna Shive, and Helen Worth. .

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday May 5, 2010, at Notre Dame Catholic Church 1861 Catasauqua Rd. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018. A calling hour will be held from 10-11 at the church. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
