Emilio Torres, 68, of Bethlehem, died Saturday, September 14, 2019 in his home with his family by his side. Born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Julia (Cruz) Burgos and Maximillian Torres. He was married to Carmen (Vazquez) Torres for 23 years.
Emilio worked as a counselor with New Direction, where he helped many people struggling with addiction. He was also a carpenter by trade. When he wasnt working he could often be found watching his favorite baseball team the New York Yankees. Emilio was a fun loving and kind hearted man who liked to joke around and have a good time and will be missed by all that knew him.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carmen, sons, Steven Rivera Burgos, Samuel Barreto, and Anthony “Tony” Barreto, daughters, Grissel Torres and Carmen Berrios, sister, Elaine Burgos, grandchildren, Ashley Rivera, Joshua Rivera, Kristal, Jose, Victor, Maribel, Anayalisse, Jaydiel, Jadieliz, Elbamarie, Wandita, Victor Berrios, Jr. “VJ”, Anasha, and Sammy “Samito” Barreto, great grandchildren, Elanny, Owen, Noah, Nicholas, Nathan, and Aniyah, and nieces and nephews, Steven Rios, Shari Rios, Daniel Rivera, Juliana Rivera, Angelo “Chino” Burgos, Julie Burgos Correra and Levette Burgos Cruz, and many great nieces and nephews. A special thank for all her help, when Emilio needed it the most, to his niece, Shari Rios.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 6-9 PM.
