Eugene L. Buttillo

Eugene Louis Buttillo, 84, of Davenport, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2018, while at home with his loving and devoted wife of 20 years, Dolores (Nelson) Buttillo. Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Jerry Buttillo and Lougia (Stellato) Buttillo. At a young age, Eugene joined the Marines to protect and serve his country during the Korean War. He was married to his first wife, the late Barbara (Lynch) Buttillo, who passed away on May 31, 1997, for 43 years, and with whom he had both of his children. Eugene worked at Bethlehem Steel for 38 and a half years, and he managed a variety of properties he and his first wife owned. He loved his family, cooking, and playing cards. Eugene was a traveling enthusiast. Prior to settling in Davenport, Florida, Eugene and his second wife Dolores traveled the country for 5 years in a motorhome, went on countless cruises and traveled up and down the east coast intermittently. SURVIVORS: He will be cherished forever in memory by his wife Dolores (Nelson) Buttillo; daughter Barbara Buttillo; son Robert Buttillo; step-son John and wife Julie Nelson; step-daughters Julie and husband Tony Cordo, Jill (Nelson) Ramos; grandchildren Erin, Rebecca, Samantha, Sean, Tori, Marina, Jacob, Joseph, Brody, Haley; great grandchildren Vincent, Lucy, Zeb, Scarlett, and Lucas; sister Rose Marie Murphy; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-mother Mary (Russian) Buttillo; first wife Barbara (Lynch) Buttillo; brother Vincent (Jimmy) Buttillo; and sister Louise (Buttillo) Brachle. SERVICES: The family welcomes all relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 9-10 AM with a funeral service at 10 AM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.
