Evelyn N. Spadt, 93, of Allentown formerly Bethlehem, died on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. She was born in Bethlehem, the daughter of the late William and Olive (Sholl) Nauman. She was the loving wife to Stanley A. Spadt for 63 years before his death in 2013.
Evelyn graduated from Liberty High School, served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a member of and later the president of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She loved to volunteer at the St. Lukes Hospital Gift Shop. She and her husband attended St. Annes Catholic Church.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kirk Spadt and wife, Susan Kellogg-Spadt, Margot (Spadt) Messer and husband, Chuck Messer, Craig Spadt and wife, Robin (Glassford) Spadt, and Dylan Spadt and wife, Cheryl (Siwy) Spadt; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Evelyn was one of fourteen siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Annes Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave., Bethlehem. Viewings will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA.
