Evelyn K. Perez, 77, of Bethlehem, died on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's

She was born February 20, 1930 in Mahanoy City, PA the daughter of the late John A. and Olga Smigo Kufrovich and stepmother, Helen Kufrovich.

Evelyn was married for nearly 55 years to her late husband James J. Perez, Sr. on February 23, 1952.

She retired in 1988 after serving as a Teaching Assistant in the Bethlehem Area School District for 15 years.

Evelyn was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jean M. Perez of Bethlehem; son, James J. Perez husband of April of Nazareth; brother, Arthur Kufrovich of Nazareth; and sisters, Margaret Morris of Tamaqua; Olga Gombert of Lehighton; Kathleen Sweeney of Barnesville; and Helene Heckman of Mahanoy City.

Evelyn is also survived by her two grandchildren, Jaime and Joel; many nieces and nephews and four godchildren, Helene Heckman; Martha DiBuo; Debbie Gombert; and Joel Perez.

She was preceded in death by her brother John.

Evelyn enjoyed spending time in her garden and she was also known for her wonderful hospitality as well as baking her famous apple pie, chicken and rice and Spanish cookies.

Services

Family and Friends may call on Wednesday April 11, 2007 from 7-9 PM at Connell Funeral Home, Inc 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem.

On Thursday April 12, 2007 a visitation will be held at the church from 9:30-10AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow.
