Fay Lorene Michelle Neimeister

June 11, 1930 — April 3, 2018

Fay Lorene Michelle Neimeister of Bethlehem, wife of Stephen M. Neimeister passed away April 3, 2018. They have been best friends for 52 years and married 37 years last November 8th. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Edward R. and Florence H. (Woodring) Skeath. Fay was a member of the former Saint Josephs Catholic Church, Bethlehem and its Womans Guild and presently attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Bethlehem. Fay graduated from Whitehall High School, attended the Gudie Dance Studio in Allentown and was a chorus line member in New York City. She continued her education graduating from the Candy Jones Career Girl Course in New York City and the Judy Greenwood Modeling School in Allentown. She had been a fashion model for Sears and freelanced in the Lehigh Valley. She was active with the former Western Electric theatrical presentations while employed there for five years, the MunOpCo Theater in Allentown and the Chansonnette Theater in Easton. She was an accomplished seamstress designing and making clothing for herself and her husband. Most notably was her wedding gown and her attendants gowns which she patterned after a formal Hawaiian evening gown. A few of her hobbies included cross stitching, ceramics, embroidering and latch hook. She and her husband traveled worldwide with Maui, Hawaii being their favorite vacation destination. Fay was employed for a combined 21 years by both Pennsylvania Department of Transportation engineering district office in Allentown and the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare at the Allentown State Hospital (BIC) until her retirement in 1985. After retiring, she volunteered over a 25 year period with various organizations. Fay was a member of the Mu Lamba Phi Sorority. She was affiliated with the Lehigh Valley Couturiere Society and the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild of America. She was a past president of both the Models Guild of Allentown and the ladies auxiliary of the Whitehall Republican Club. She is a past member of the American Sewing Guild and the Alter and Rosary Society of Saint Marys Catholic Church in Catasauqua. She was an ovarian cancer survivor. Fay was a proud owner of vintage Mustangs and throughout her life she owned many beloved German Shepherd Dogs.

She was preceded in death by her sister Fern Bastinelli. She is survived by her loving husband, Stephen, nieces, nephews and her beloved German Shepherd, D-Boots D6th.

A viewing will be held from 6-8pm Sunday April 8th, and 8:30-9:30am Monday April 9th at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10am Monday April 9th, at St. Josephs Catholic Church 416 E. 5th St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Interment at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Airport Road, Hanover Township.
