Felipe De Jesus Resendez

Felipe De Jesus Resendez, 62, of Allentown, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022, at St. Lukes Hospital - Fountain Hill.

Born on July 17, 1959, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, he was a son of the late Alejos and Maria Melquiades Resendez.

Felipe was presently the pastor at Iglesia Pentecostal La Roca of PA Church in Allentown. He loved taking care of his church family and preaching the Word of God.

In his spare time, Felipe enjoyed visiting his daughters taco truck, grilling, making Mexian hot chocolate, and taking his morning coffee with Mexican sweet bread. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; he was fond of reading the Word of God. Twice a month he would go to the diner with his friends to talk about the Bible and enjoy some breakfast. Felipe also loved watching cooking shows and took pleasure in watching the news with his wife. Felipe also fancied trips to antique stores to find treasures, augmenting his brass collection. He would like to sit in his backyard and admire the beauty of nature around him. He was a simple man with a heart of gold and an infectious smile.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister: Paulita Resendez; and two brothers: Victor and Silvestre Resendez.

Felipe will be lovingly remembered by his wife: Sonia Resendez; son: Felipe De Jesus Resendez, Jr. and his wife Kate Check-Resendez; daughter: Sonia Isabel Resendez and her husband Onesimo Martnez; and his grandson: Salomn Martnez.

A visitation will be held at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, on Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 3:00-5:00pm, with a prayer service beginning at 5:00pm. A second visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022, from 11:00am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.

Interment will be in St. Marks Cemetery, 103 West Lexington Street, Allentown.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Felipe's family will require guests to wear face masks while inside of the funeral home.

Nacio el 17 de julio en 1959 en Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mxico. Era hijo de los fallecidos Alejos y Mara Melquiades Resendez.

Felipe fue el pastor de la Iglesia Pentecostal La Roca de PA Church en Allentown. Le encantaba cuidar de su familia y la iglesia que pastoreaba predicando las buenas nuevas de salvacin.

Por los &uacuteltimos 37 aos, vivi al lado de su esposa Sonia Resendez y sus dos hijos, Felipe de Jes&uacutes Resendez Jr. y Sonia Isabel Resendez en Allentown, Pensilvania. En su tiempo libre, Felipe disfrutaba visitar el puesto de tacos de su hija, hacer parrilladas, preparar chocolate caliente mexicano y tomar su caf matutino con pan dulce mexicano.

Felipe encontraba un deleite pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos. Su pasin era leer la Palabra de Dios. Dos veces al mes iba al restaurante con sus amigos para hablar sobre la Biblia y disfrutar de un desayuno. A Felipe tambin le encantaba ver programas de cocina y disfrutaba viendo las noticias a lado de su esposa. A Felipe tambin le gustaba visitar las tiendas de antig
