Fernando I. Dasilva

Fernando I. DaSilva, 61, of Bethlehem passed away suddenly Saturday, May 23, 2015 at St. Lukes Hospital in Fountain Hill. Born June 23, 1953 in Avanca, Portugal he was the son of the late Perciosa Valente Fonseca and Manuel Dias Silva. He was married to Maria Dulce (Sousa) DaSilva for 41 years this August 4th.

Fernando worked as a foreman at Topline Construction in NJ where many of his colleagues were more than just co-workers but friends and family. He would often volunteer his time with the Portuguese American Club in Bethlehem and at Holy Infancy Catholic Church. Fernando was the current president of Irmandade de Nossa Sra. De Fatima.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Maria, children, Alexandra wife of Antonio Dias, Jorge DaSilva husband of Candy Maldonado and Fernando DaSilva husband of Amanda DaSilva, brother, Manuel Silva, 2 brothers and 2 sisters in Portugal. Fernando will also be missed by his five granddaughters, Angelina, Adriana, Milani, Andrea, and Isabella. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 6-9 PM and again on Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E. 4th St., Bethlehem, PA 18015 at 10 AM. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.

Memorial contributions may be made in Fernandos name to Holy Infancy Catholic Church.
