Fernando J. Lopes

Fernando J. Lopes, 68, of Bethlehem died Sunday September 19, 2010 at the St. Luke's Hospice House. He was born on April 13, 1942 in Madeira, Portugal son of the late Antonio and Gracinda DeJesus Lopes. He was the husband of Maria Henriqes Lopes. They celebrated 40 years of marriage on February 7, 2010.

Fernando was a member of Holy Infancy Church in Bethlehem. He enjoyed music and playing the accordion. He loved to walk and take care of his garden, and most recently, had a trip of a lifetime to Portugal with his family.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Maria, daughters, Josefina wife of Munzer Barakat and Celia wife of James Strouse both ob Bethlehem, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and grandchildren, Michelle and Zachary Barakat.

Service will be held 9:30AM Wednesday September 22, 2010 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10AM at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18015. Calling hours will be held 7-9PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Burial at Holy Saviour.
