Fidel Gonzalez, Sr.

Fidel Gonzalez, Sr. 82, of Bethlehem died on Wednesday, December 12, 2007.

He was born in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Juan and Natividad Lopez Gonzalez.

Fidel is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sara Rodriguez Gonzalez of Bethlehem.

He retired in 1989, after 17 years of service at the Bridesberg Foundry.

Fidel was a member of First Baptist Church, Bethlehem, where he was a Sunday School Teacher for the Spanish Dept. and served as a Deacon for many years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sara; daughters, Ledavina Rivas of Allentown; Norma Kozero of Bethlehem and Diana Gonzalez of Harrisburg; and sons, Evanoy Gonzalez husband of Brunnie of Nazareth, Abel Gonzalez, husband of Kathy of Phoenix Arizona and Fidel Gonzalez Jr. husband of Beth of Bethlehem. Fidel is also survived by his 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Yolanda Kirsch; sister Fidela Gonzalez and brothers Isidro, Juan, Vincenti, Louis and Roman.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home Inc. Bethlehem.

A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church 3235 Linden Street Bethlehem PA 18017 on Monday, December 17th, 2007 from 9 to 10:45 AM. A service to celebrate Fidel's life will follow at 11:00 am in the church.
