Filomena Galassi

July 19, 1921 — August 3, 2015

Filomena Galassi, 94, of Bethlehem and formerly of Lebanon, died on Monday, August 3, 2015. She was born in Mociano, Italy the daughter of the late Pietro and Amalia (Marchioni) Troia. She was the loving wife of the late Alfonso Galassi.

Filomena was an excellent seamstress and extraordinary cook. A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary while living in Lebanon and of Notre Dame while in Bethlehem.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Frank Galassi and wife, Janice of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Gina Stephens of Poughkeepsie, NY, Rachel Galassi of Wilkes-Barre, PA, and Taylor Galassi of Bethlehem; and great-grandchildren, Elias and Amalia Work and Tessa Miorelli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the church. A 1:30 p.m. burial service will follow at Grandview Memorial Mausoleum in Annville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
