Florence L. Mesko

Florence L. Mesko, 94, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at her residence. She was born October 6, 1927, in Hazleton, PA; daughter of the late Bernard and Lottie (Laganosky) Lash. Florence was preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Schultz, brother, Fred Lash and her beloved husband of 56 years, John Mesko, in 2003.

Florence will be remembered as a selfless wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Her acts of love brought immense joy to her family and all those around her. She was a determined woman; always setting and achieving new goals for herself. Florence most recently passed her drivers test, renewing her license at the age of 93. She had a wonderful talent for crafts. Florence taught herself to crochet, sew, and knit. She used this talent to make clothing for dolls that she collected as well as other items that will forever be cherished by her family. In her free time, Florence enjoyed tending to the flowers and vegetables in her garden.

Florence dedicated her life to her family and will be dearly missed by her 4 daughters, Sharyn (Dr. William) Brunk; Janice (Richard) Rice; Debra (Michael) Haag; and Nanette (Reed) Marks as well as her brother, John OMalia; grandchildren, Christa, Kimberly, Shannon, Kelly, Rebecca, Aaron, Erica, Lori, and Christopher; and great grandchildren, John, Ashley, Matthew, Mason, Elias, Noah, Quinn, Bennett, and Emmalyn.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a ceremony to immediately follow at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Guests will be kindly asked to wear a mask upon entry. Interment will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Family Pillars Hospice, 3910 Adler Pl. Bethlehem, PA 18017.
