Florence Meckes

Florence Meckes, 72, of Bethlehem, died on Monday, May 14, 2007 at VNA

Hospice House of St. Luke's, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Freemansburg, the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth

E. George Mest.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband Harvey Meckes, Jr.

She retired in 2004 after 35 years of service for Synthetic Thread Mfg. Co.

Florence was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.

She was the former Recording Secretary for the Edgeboro Democratic Club.

Florence will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Brenda Meckes of

Bethlehem; brothers, Clarence of Bethlehem; Charles of Stroudsburg; and

Earl husband of Shirley of Salisbury and sisters, Virginia Kilpatrick of

Bethlehem as well as Dorothy Hill and Charlotte Wilson both of Wind Gap.

She is also survived by her granddaughters Mary and Tiffany Reph;

grandsons, David, fiance of Lisa Delgado and Joshua Reph and great

granddaughters, Kyleigh Reph and Angel Lozada.

She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Hettrick and grandson, Franklin Reph.

SERVICES

A visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St.

Bethlehem on Saturday May 19 2007 from 11-12 noon with a funeral service

to follow at noon in the funeral home.

Burial will be at Bethlehem Memorial Park
