Frances G. Horvath

Frances G. Horvath, 87, of Bethlehem died Friday, March 13, 2009 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Born in Bethlehem Township, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Kociolek Yavorski. Her husband, the late Joseph F. Horvath died in 1971.

Francis was a member of SS. Simon & Jude Church and formerly a member of Sacred Heart Church in Miller Heights. While at Sacred Heart she was very active in the church and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Years ago she had been employed at silk mills in the Lehigh Valley, including Chipman Knitting Mills in West Easton. She had also worked at the Bethlehem Steel Co. during WWII, making bullets "for her country".

Frances is survived by daughters Joan, wife of Phil Yoder of Allentown; Peggy wife of Bruce Pysher of Bethlehem, sons Joseph F., Jr. and Dennis of Bethlehem; Michael of Tampa, FLA; step daughter Julia Rose Torok of Bath and a sister Agnes, wife of Richard Dougherty of Andover, VT. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; Joseph, Jane, Clare, Michael, Maria and Maureen Horvath; Mary, Patrick and Joseph Yoder; Jennifer Pysher; Amy Fisher; Jacqueline Lilly; Julia Ann Chambers; Joseph and Jeffrey Torok and Joseph Kospiah. Also surviving are 8 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by step daughter Mary Ann Kospiah.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 AM Wednesday, March 18, 2009 in the Connell Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in SS Simon & Jude Church at 10:00AM. Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 17 from 7:00PM - 9:00PM and Wednesday, March 18 from 8:30AM - 9:30AM in the funeral home.

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
