Frances I. Zsilavec

June 2, 1918 — February 28, 2011

Frances I. Slafkosky Zsilavec, 92, of Bethlehem died Monday, February 28, 2011 at St.Lukes Hospital in Bethlehem. Born June 2, 1918 in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late Mary Yosko and George Slafkosky. She was married to the late Stephen Zsilavec.

Frances dedicated her life to her family. She was a member of Incarnation of Our Lord Parish Catholic Church formerly Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. She was proud of her Slovak heritage and was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols in Bethlehem. Frances was an avid New York Yankee and Penn State fan.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Thomas Zsilavec and wife Bonnie of Bethlehem Township, daughter, Imelda "Mell" Master of Bethlehem and her companion Michael Manento of Pen Argyl, grandson Glenn Master and wife Amy of Haslet, TX, step granddaughter Lori Nisiotis wife of George of Macungie, great grandson, Austin and step great granddaughters, Alexa and Gabriana. She will also be remembered by her nephews, Michael and David Hartigan and niece Mary Frances Hartigan.

She was preceded in death by her brother, George Slafkosky, sister, Virginia Hartigan and nephew, James Hartigan.

SERVICES

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 from 7-9 PM. A calling period will be on Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 9-10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish Catholic Church 617 E. Pierce St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem.

Memorial contributions may be made in Frances's name to the church.
