Francis J. Pecuch, 66, of Bethlehem, died on Monday, October 19, 2015. He was born August 14, 1949, son of the late Francis J. Pecuch, Sr. and Blanche (Davco) Pecuch. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathleen (Seeds) Pecuch.
Fran was a 1967 graduate of Liberty High School. In 1974 he attended Northampton Community College and was drafted to serve as a medic in the US Army during the Vietnam War with the 95th Evacuation Hospital, “China Beach”. He later earned his Bachelors of Nursing from Kutztown University and his Masters in Human Resources from the University of Scranton. He held a certificate in Nursing Administration and a license as a Nursing Home Administrator. He began his career as a Nursing Supervisor for the Allentown State Hospital, where he was President of the Board of Trustees. Fran served as the Director of Nursing at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, the Assistant Director of Corrections/Medical for the Lehigh County Prison and ultimately retired in 2004 as the Superintendent of the Lehigh County Juvenile Detention Center. His memberships included The Jefferson Democratic Club, The Sokols Club, Steel City Gun Club, Bethlehem Recreation Commission and First Windish Fraternal Benefits Society. Fran was a member of the Lehigh Carbon Community College Nursing Advisory Board and was a coach for many years at North Central Little League. Fran was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Kolleen Ganser and husband, Richard of Allentown; son, Kyle F. Pecuch and wife, Katelyn of Hellertown; his three grandchildren, Meghan Sebeth, Grace Ganser and Lyla Pecuch; his brother, Thomas Pecuch of Coopersburg; sister-in-law, Renee Pecuch of Center Valley; and sister, Jeanne Remmel and husband, Chris of Coopersburg.
A visitation will be held at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. A service will be held at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
