Francis J. Spevak

Francis J. ?Sonny? Spevak, 84, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Hospice House of St. Luke?s in Lower Saucon Twp. Born April 17, 1922 in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Andrew J. and Veronica A. Doddy Spevak. He was the devoted husband to Edna M. Zamadics Spevak of Bethlehem. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past February 24th. Sonny worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 31 years and retired in 1983. He served his country proudly in WWII in the U.S. Army. Sonny was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, The National Sokols and St. Joseph?s Catholic Church of Bethlehem.

Francis will be lovingly remembered by, his wife, Edna, son, Francis J. Spevak, Jr. of Sergeantsville, NJ; five daughters, Rebecca A. Donchez of Bethlehem Twp.; Priscilla Reardon wife of Jon of Doylestown; Francine Spevak of Bethlehem; Amy Tronolone wife of Charles of Modesto, CA; Dawn Timko wife of Cyril of Bethlehem; brothers, Joseph Spevak of Bethlehem; Andrew Spevak of North Carolina; sisters, Anna Vanic wife of Cyril, Catherine Gerencsar wife of Joseph, and Margaret Stangl all of Bethlehem; three grandchildren, Timothy Donchez, Brandi Reardon and George Andrew Thomson. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael, John and George and sisters, Mary Lazun and Agnes Delgrosso.

Services: Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 28, 2007 from 2-4 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Monday, January 29, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church 416 East Fifth St. Bethlehem. Interment will be private.
