Francis L. "Mac" Mcginnis

Francis L. “Mac” McGinnis, 79, of Fountain Hill, died on Sunday, December 29, 2013. He was born in Bethlehem; son of the late James T. and Teresa (Weidenger) McGinnis. Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Dorothy L. (Scheerbaum) McGinnis.

Frank proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Hellertown Mfg Co./Champion Spark Plug after over 30 years of service. Frank also worked as a bartender for the North End Wanderers A.A. and various other clubs for over 30 years. He was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Frank was a life member of the Wanderers and several other social clubs and he was an avid NY Mets fan.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Larry and his wife Nora of Nazareth; Debbie McGinnis of Fountain Hill; Lisa Bohner and her husband Bill, Jr. of Quakertown; Doug and his wife, Pam of Parkton, MD and Craig of Northampton; as well as his 11 grandchildren, Daniel, Nick, Carolyn, Dorothy, Joe, April, Billy, Philip, Josh, Ross and Ireland; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Alice Miskevish of Bethlehem and Rose Marie Kospiah of Hellertown and his brother, Jim McGinnis of Reading. Frank was predeceased by his granddaughter, Morgan Kaylee McGinnis and his sister, Kathleen Paynter.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 7-9 PM at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 and again on Thursday from 9-10 AM with a service to immediately follow at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 3893 Adler Pl. Suite 170 Bethlehem, PA 18017.
