Francis X. Murray, 86, of Bethlehem passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke's.
He was born in Phillipsburg, NJ, the son of the late William A. and Agnes J. Laughlin Murray.
Francis was preceded in death by his wife Theresa M. Jordan Murray in 2003.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 7th Army under Gen. Patch.
Francis was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 730 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society.
He retired from the Bethlehem Steel Co. where he was an Inspector for over 40 years.
Francis will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Mary Louise wife of Ernest F. DeAngelis of Wescosville; Brother, William Bernard Murray of Palmer and two grandchildren Andrew J. DeAngelis of Elkton, MD and Leigh Anne DeAngelis of Marshall, VA
He was predeceased by his brother, James.
Francis was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Bethlehem Steel Pensioners Group. Earlier he was a soloist for St. Phillip and St. James Church in Phillipsburg, NJ and Francis enjoyed performing in talent shows, and minstrels.
SERVICES
A visitation will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem on Thursday December 14, 2006 from 7-9 PM and again on Friday December 15, 2006 from 8:30-9:30AM in the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Friday December 15, 2006 at 10AM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice of St. Luke's 1510 Center Valley Parkway Suite 200 Bethlehem PA 18017
