Frank Bencsics

Frank Bencsics, known by family and friends as "Dixie Davis", 86, of Bethlehem died on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Whitehall Manor.

He was born February 18, 1922 in Bethlehem, the son of the late Stephen and Antonia Bokan Bencsics.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Ella Bencsics in 2004.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS WestPoint during WWII.

Frank retired in 1987 after 22 years of service as a machinist for the Allentown Pneumatic Gun Co.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Barry, husband of Barbara of North Carolina; William, husband of Susan of Bethlehem; and Bob husband of Joan of Fountain Hill; as well as his nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Frank is also survived by his sisters Irma Celecz of Levittown and Helen Schubert of Fogelsville.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, 2009 from7 to 8:30 PM at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem and again on Saturday, January 31, 2009 from 9 to 10 AM with a service to immediately follow at 10 AM in the funeral home.

Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem, PA
