Frank H. Ammend

February 18, 1912 — June 22, 2006

Mr. Frank H. Ammend, 94 of Bethlehem Township, died peacefully Thursday morning in his home surrounded by his four daughters. He is the husband of the late Anna R. Hudacek Ammend who died in 1998.

Born in Bethlehem he is the son of the late Joseph and Frances Kneiss Ammend.

Frank worked as a crane operator and in the press forge division for the Bethlehem Steel Company for more than 44 years, retiring in 1976.

He was a charter member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bethlehem Township where he was a member of the Holy Name Society.

He also was a charter member of Heights St. Joseph Federal Credit Union.

Frank loved working in his large vegetable garden and enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking long walks.

Surviving are four daughters: Rosemary at home, Constance, wife of Charles Schubert of Bethlehem Township, Dorothy Radzelovage of Bethlehem and Clare wife of John Magee of Glenmoore, PA. He is also survived by his brother Joseph, his sisters Frances Reinert and Margaret Seaman, all of Bethlehem, eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Henry and Steve, his sisters Anna Ammend and Mary Mumma and his grandson Charles Schubert, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 24th at 9:15 a.m. at the Connell Funeral Home 245 East Broad Street Bethlehem and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.

Friends may call Saturday 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
