Frank J. Kovacs, Sr.

April 25, 1916 — June 18, 2010

Frank J. Kovacs Sr, 94 was born in Bethlehem and died on Friday, June 18, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's in Bethlehem. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Nagy Kovacs. He was the husband of the late Valeria Pinter Kovacs and the late Irene Huyter Budura Kovacs.

Frank, a General Contractor and Custom Builder/Remodeler from 1947 until he retired in 1998, was owner of Frank J. Kovacs, Inc. He was a life member of the Jefferson Democratic Club and a past member of the Lehigh Valley Home Builders Association and other community organizations. Frank's hobbies were woodworking, gardening, and listening to music.

Frank will be lovingly remembered by his son Frank J. Kovacs, Jr. of Bethlehem, daughters Valerie King and her husband Greg, Linda Marlow and her husband Norm of Bethlehem, and Suzanne Knupp and her husband Gibby of Somers, MT, brother Imre Kovacs of Bethlehem, step children Victor Budura of AL, John Budura and his wife Bonnie of Allentown, and Marianne Tendler and husband Paul of Somers Point, NJ, grandchildren Kelli Knupp of TX, Shelli Marlow Coley of CO and F. Jay Kovacs III of MN, step-grandchildren Matthew Budura and Amanda Budura of VA, and Joe Morganelli and family of PA, four great grandchildren Greg Knupp, Taylor Simpson, Tyler Coley and McKenna Coley and great great grandchild Casen Knupp.

Frank is predeceased by his parents, two wives, three brothers Joseph, Bela and Emil Kovacs and a sister Mary Herczeg.

Friends may call at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery.
