Frank L Grund

Frank L. Grund, 90, of Hellertown PA died peacefully on January 9, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township.

Fritz and his wife Ann (Petrusic) Grund celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on April 25th.

Born in Bethlehem he is the son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Heiser) Grund.

Fritz was a proud graduate of Liberty High School and a loyal member of the U.S. Navy and Seabees during World War II.

He worked diligently for 35 years as a letter carrier for the U. S. Postal Service after a stint at the Bethlehem Steel Company.

He was an active member of St. Joseph's Church in Bethlehem volunteering as an altar server until his 86th birthday. He was currently a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Hellertown.

Fritz was active in the Lehigh Valley community as a Life member of Lynns AA,

St. Bernard's Society, the Lehigh South Side Boosters Association, the National Association of Letter Carriers and the Hellertown American Legion Post # 397.

Surviving with his wife Ann are his daughters: Judith wife of Lee Braun of Denver, CO. and Sharon Volkert of Bethlehem Township. He is also survived by three granddaughters: Lori Swanson, Tracy Mansoor and Rachael Volkert and five loving great grandchildren: Zachary, Nathaniel, Olivia, Cameron and Ryleigh and 18 nephews and nieces.

Fritz was preceded in death by his brothers: Thomas, Joseph, George, Edward and Raymond and his sisters: Elizabeth, Vera, Theresa, Katie, and Marie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday January 12th at St. Joseph's Catholic Church 416 E. Fifth Street Bethlehem

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke Hospice 801 Ostrum St. Development Office Bethlehem, PA 18015

Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery
