Frank W. Blatnik

Frank W. Blatnik, Sr., 87, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. He was born in Fountain Hill; the son of the late Frank J. Blatnik and Helen Nagy and stepson to the late Joseph Nagy. Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Theresa A. (Brauchle) Blatnik of Gracedale.

Upon graduation from Bethlehem High School, Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After being honorably discharged he reenlisted with the U.S. Army for an additional 18 months. Frank was a tough steel worker who retired from the Bethlehem Steels Maintenance Division where he worked as an electrician and a motor inspector for 43 years, retiring in 1986.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Theresa; his daughter, Barbara Ann Curry and her husband, Robert and his son, Frank W. Blatnik, Jr. and his wife, Margaret all of Bethlehem. Frank will also be dearly missed by his grandson, Frank W. Blatnik, III and his great grandson, Tyler James Blatnik; his brother, Thomas of Whittier, CA and sister, Dolores Wirth of Newark, DE. Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Blatnik of Seville, Spain.

Frank was a member of the Bethlehem MORA Club, American Legion and various social clubs in the community.

A visitation will be held at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 6 to 8 PM. Inurnment with military honors will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are welcome and asked to meet at the entrance to the cemetery prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice in honor of Frank.
