Frederick Charles Stair, Sr., 82, of Bethlehem passed away Saturday in his home. He was the husband of Constance (Walizer) Stair.
Born in Bethlehem, Fred was the son of the late Wilfred, Sr. and Ellen (Cole) Stair. He was a graduate of Liberty High School and a veteran of the Korean War.
He was employed by the PA Liquor Control Board for more than 30 years and served as president of the Independent State Store Union for many years. He was also owner and operator of Popsicle Pete, an ice cream vending business and co-owner of Quints Lawn Care.
He was a member of the Rosemont Fire Co. and a Central Park Historian.
Surviving with his wife of 59 years are three sons: Roderick (Eileen) of Churchville, NY, Frederick Jr. (Maryann) of Northampton, and Quintan of Allentown; two daughters, Adrienne of Bath and Wendy McLagan of Northampton; six granddaughters, Angela, Devon, Rachel, Erica, Caitlyn, and Abigail; a brother Calvin of Bethlehem. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilfred Jr., Elwood and John and a sister Dolores.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 9:30a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a service in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Center for Animal Health and Welfare, 1165 Island Park Rd, Easton, PA 18242.
