Frederick R. Smith

Frederick R. Smith, 79, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at St.Luke?s Hospital in Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Russell T. and Anna Zednik Smith and the husband of the late Irene P. Divok Smith who died November 12, 2004.

Fred was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a ladelman in the Ingot Mold Foundry at Bethlehem Steel retiring in 1994 with 38 years of service. He was a life member of Jefferson Democratic Club and BVFHA in Bethlehem.

Fred will be lovingly remembered by a daughter, Sharon Smith, three sons, Frederick R. Jr., Michael A. and Thomas S. Smith all of Bethlehem; two granddaughters, Liza Englert and Samantha Smith and three great-grandchildren, Natalie Englert, Kyle Englert and Gianna Smith.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held, Monday, January 03, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
