Frederick W. Lash, 85, of Bethlehem, died on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his residence.

He was born November 20, 1925 in Hazleton, PA; the son of the late Bernard and Lottie Lagonski Lash. Frederick was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Agnes M. ReckerLash.

He was a decorated war veteran, serving as a U.S. Army Paratrooper during WWII. Fredericks medals include the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Frederick retired in 1986 from William H. Taylor Industrial Supplies after 18 1/2 years of service. Earlier, he worked 21 1/2 years for National Portland Cement Co. where he served as a general foreman.

Frederick was a very devoted parishioner of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Bethlehem and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Bethlehem. He was also an active member of the Bethlehem MORA Club.

Survivors: Frederick will be lovingly remembered by his son, Deacon Frederick W. Lash, Jr. and his wife Teri of Macungie; sister, Florence Mesko and brother, John Omalia both of Bethlehem.

He was preceded in death by his sister Bernice Shultz.

Services: The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 20, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.

Another viewing will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 from 12 to 12:45 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem PA 18020 with a Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow.

Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1204 Main St. Northampton, PA 18067.
