Fundadora "Dora" Ocasio

Fundadora “Dora” Ocasio, 87, of Bethlehem passed away on Wednesday April 20, 2016 at her residence. She was born on February 20, 1929 in Camuy, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Juan and Basilisa (Quilez) Roman. She was the wife of the late Lorenzo Ocasio. Dora lived in Bethlehem for 37 years and was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church. She loved her church and was devoted to Virgin Mary. Dora was a dedicated mother and role model for all of her children and gave them the best religious education. Doras words she kept repeating before she passed were, Jesus and the Virgin Mary are covering me with their wings.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Jose Ocasio of Florida, daughters, Gloria Mendez of Florida, Fidela Torres , and Norma Ocasio-DeJesus both of Bethlehem, sister, Juana Roman of Miami, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Anatolio “Tony” Ocasio.

A prayer service will be held 9:30am Monday April 25, 2016 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18018 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10am at Holy Infancy Catholic Church 412 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, Pa.18015. A viewing will be held from 6-8pm Sunday evening and 8:30-9:30am Monday morning at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.
