Gabriel Vincent Canzano, born to the late Nicola Canzano and Maria Concetta Canzano on May 27, 1948, in Torino di Sangro, Abruzzo, Italy, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on August 31, 2024, at his residence. Gabriel's life was characterized by his deep passions and the connections he forged with those around him.
Educated at Allentown Central Catholic High School, Gabriel distinguished himself as a member of the football team and nurtured a lifelong love for sports. He continued his academic journey at St. Mary's of the Plains College before graduating with a bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton. Throughout his life, sports remained an integral part of his identity, with a particular fervor for following Bethlehem Catholic High School sports. Originally a Philadelphia Eagles fan, he split his loyalty with the Kansas City Chiefs, a testament to his love for his partner in life, Lisa K. Calvo, with whom he shared over 30 years of devotion and companionship.
Gabriel's professional career highlighted his remarkable talents. He was skilled in sewing, stitching, and tailoring, helping his father with many of his loyal customers. He worked as a photographer, capturing life's fleeting moments with a keen eye, offering memories that would linger long after the shutter clicked. His work in photography was not merely a profession but a means of storytelling, allowing him to convey emotions and experiences through images. Gabriel also spent time at various jobs through Bethlehem Steel.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gabriel was a sensitive soul and a devoted historian. Although he was a man of few words, his insights often shone brightly, particularly when discussing his beloved sports. He deeply respected and admired the Calvo family, cherishing the time spent in their company during family gatherings.
Gabriel is survived by his loving partner, Lisa K. Calvo, her family and friends, his sister, Lucy Haring; and niece, Antonella Haring, who will remember him fondly.
