George E. Kalata

George E. Kalata, 91, of Bethlehem died Friday May 2, 2008 at St. Lukes Hospital in Bethlehem. He was born on February 23, 1917 in Yonkers, NY son of the late Andrew M. and Catherine A. Soltis Kalata. He was the husband of Anna Tyciak Kalata of Bethlehem. They were married for 67 years October of 2007.

George worked for Bethlehem Steel in the electric melting dept. for 40 years. He was a member of Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Bethlehem. He was also a member of Jednota at church, 1st Catholic Union of the US & Canada Branch #156, USWA Local #2598 and a lifetime member of the Heights AA.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Anna , son, George and wife Laura of Auburn, Alabama, daughters, Nancy Penczak wife of David of Hackettstown, NJ, and Carol Jacob wife of Thomas of Bethlehem Twp., 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Services will be held on Tuesday May 6, 2008 at 9:30AM at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, Pa. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10AM at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem, Pa. 18015. Calling hours Monday evening from 7-9PM in the funeral home.
