George F. Guldner

George F. Guldner, Jr., 90, of Bethlehem, passed away on November 16, 2017 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Belleville, NJ, the son of the late Elizabeth (Partington) and George F. Guldner, Sr. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Thompson) Guldner.

After graduating from Nutley High School in Nutley, NJ in 1944, George proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He graduated from Rider University in 1951 and then started his 32 year career with the Bethlehem Steel Corp., all in the home office. George was an active member of the community. He volunteered as groundskeeper at Wesley United Methodist Church, Vice President of the Ys Men Club, Miller Blood Bank, Treasurer of the Cancer Boutique at the Rink, Treasurer of the AAUW Book Fair, building of the Lehigh Little League Baseball complex and Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed bowling, softball, tennis, skeet shooting, gardening and golf; shooting his age playing golf at ages 80, 81 and 84. He also served as President of the Merchants Bowling League in Bethlehem.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara Guldner; son, Jeffrey L. Guldner and his wife, Karla of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Cathy Ann Cerami and her husband Mark of Coopersburg and grandson, Matthew L. Cerami. George was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Camera and a brother, Walter Guldner.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, Attention: Grounds Keeping Committee, 2540 Center St. Bethlehem, PA 18017.
