George H. Ehret, Jr.

George H. Ehret, Jr. 75, of Bethlehem, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022. He was born on May 20, 1946, the son of the late Anna (Donchez) and George H. Ehret, Sr. He was the loving husband of Rita M. (Hines) Ehret.

George worked in Quality Control at the Bethlehem Steel and Lehigh Heavy Forge. He was very involved in the steel union until his retirement in 2018. In his younger years he enjoyed road trips on his motorcycle. He looked forward to his annual family trips to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and spending time with his grand pup, Douglas. George adored his grandchildren, "swimmers 3", and was their biggest fan, never missing a swim meet.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rita M. Ehret; daughter, Jessica Lehr and her husband, Glen; grandchildren, Anna C., Talia C., and Daniel P. Lehr; nephew, Richard J. Ehret, Jr. and his wife, Sue and niece, Tracy Jones.

George was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Ehret and brother, Richard J. Ehret, Sr. and his wife, Marion.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad. St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Athletic Club C/O swim team, 1115 Linden St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.
