George J. Kostelnik

George J. Kostelnik, 92, of Bethlehem died on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill after a brief illness. Born in Bethlehem he was the son of the late Urban and Anna (Balik) Kostelnik. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Barbara (Knoblauh) Kostelnik; sisters Helen, Irene and Annamae Kostelnik, RN, Mary Aylward and brother Francis Kostelnik, MD . George was a graduate of Liberty H.S. and West Virginia University. He Served in the U.S. Air Force and attained the rank of Captain. He worked for Bethlehem Steel for more than 30 years as a metallurgical service engineer. For his entire life he was a devout Catholic and a dedicated servant to his church, now known as Incarnation of Our Lord. From an early age George was very active in the Slovak Catholic Sokols where in 1975 he was elected the first American born Supreme President of the nationwide organization. He was loved by all who knew him especially his family who will treasure him always.

Survivors: seven nephews, three nieces, four great nephews, six great nieces, two great great nephews and five great great nieces.

Services: A viewing will be held from 9-10am on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish 617 Pierce St., Bethlehem, PA 18015 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Incarnation of Our Lord Parish.
