George M. Petko

George M Petko, 73 , of Bethlehem Township, died suddenly on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at his Residence in Bethlehem Township. He was born in Bethlehem, and was the son of the late Michael J. and Mary E. Polak Petko. George was the husband of Mildred F. Westwood Petko who he married in 1954. They would have celebrated their 54th anniversary in May.

George worked for the City of Bethlehem Fire Department and was the pump operator for Co. # 1 before retiring in 1996 after 34 years service. He was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, the Catholic Sokols, the Independent Citizens Club and the Heights A.A.

George will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mildred, son Michael J. Petko and wife Kathleen of Bethlehem, five daughters Kayne Pentecharsky, Mary Kohler both of Bethlehem, Karen Kresge and husband Charles of Northampton, Lisa Marie Dennis and husband Cliff of Saylorsburg, PA and Linda M. George and husband Bryan of Allentown, grandchildren Charles, Jessica, Jaclyn, Shawn, C J, Mikayla, Caleb & Jennifer and a great-granddaughter Holly, two brothers William and Francis of Bethlehem and a sister Anna Mae Kisunic of Allentown.

George is predeceased by his parents, four brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter Kristen Kohler.

Friends may call at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, on Sunday, March 9, 2008 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday, March 10, 2008 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM.

Prayers will be held at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 617 Pierce St., Bethlehem on Monday March 10, 2008 at 10:00 AM.
