George Milton Blawn, Jr., 87, a lifelong resident of Bethlehem, passed away on January 31, 2024. He was born on August 23, 1936, son of the late George Milton Blawn, Sr. and Dorothy (Elliott) Blawn. George is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Blawn. The two were married April 29, 1989.
George will be lovingly remembered as a caring, sensitive man with a big heart and a passion for being in nature. He had a great personality and was well liked by those he met. George could often be found fishing, hunting, camping, boating, or clamming.
George became an electrician in his younger years, and worked for the family business, Blawn Electric, for several years. Later he continued his career as an electrician with the Bethlehem Area School District until his retirement. George was not only a talented electrician, but he also worked hard to develop excellent woodworking skills.
George enjoyed his time with friends at the social clubs that he was a member of, including N.E. Wanderers A.A., Heights A.A., Jefferson Democratic Club, East Bath Rod and Gun Club, Petersville Rod and Gun Club, and The Northampton Racoon Club.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Peggy; daughter, Linda and husband David, son, George Milton Blawn, III, stepdaughter, Betty Jean Kichline and husband, Steve, brother, James Blawn, 13 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his stepson, Scott Brunell, brothers, Gary Blawn, and John Blawn, sisters, Dolores Kauffman, and Jean Wardle, and his great granddaughter, Leanna Hann
Friends and family will be received at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 6-7 p.m. with a memorial service to immediately follow at 7 p.m..
Burial will be held at a later date.
