George J. Novak, 88, of Easton, died Monday, April 7, 2025 at the St. Luke's Hospice House with his family by his side. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Kathryn (Angerman) and James Novak, Sr. He was married to Mary I. Novak for 61 years until her death on June 8, 2020.
George graduated from Lehigh University with a civil engineering degree. He went on to work and retire from Bethlehem Steel. George was an active member of the former St. John's Windish Lutheran Church in Bethlehem. He also volunteered his time serving on the board of Lutheran Manor. In his free time George was passionate about hunting, fishing, poker, Lehigh Wrestling, watching the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Eagles. No matter how busy he was he always made time for his family and his two sons, growing up he coached their little league and basketball teams, and going on a cruises with his wife to celebrate their anniversaries.
George will be lovingly remembered by his sons; Chris Novak and wife, Jean, and George Novak and wife, Libia, grandchildren; Kimberly Novak, Eric Burian and wife, Stacey, and Amy wife of Eric Lowrie, great grandchildren; Joshua and Wesley Lowrie, and brothers; Eugene and wife, Kathy, Jim and wife, Rita, Joseph and wife, Sheila, John and wife, Karen, and Robert and wife, Linda, and a sister, Shirley wife of John Benes.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, from 10-11 AM followed by a service at 11AM. Burial will be at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
